Planning Ministry to be made ideal work-place for women: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal Tuesday said that the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform would be made an

ideal work-place for women so that they could contribute effectively in national development.

The minister was speaking at a cake cutting ceremony in the ministry to mark International Women Day.

The minister directed the authorities concerned to set up a day care centre at the ministry to facilitate the working mothers and ordered constituting a committee for the purpose.

He appreciated the role of women in various spheres of life and said that the government had taken many initiatives for women empowerment in the country.

He said that national development goals could be achieved only through active participation of women in the development discourse.
