Pakistan turned 75 last year. It has come a long way from where it started back in 1947. Rarely, a country has experienced so much turbulence in its history as Pakistan did. The embedded resilience of the nation has made its way through thick and thin. The country has managed to stay relevant in the global landscape, no matter what. There is a lot about Pakistan that needs improvement, but the positives hint at an assuring future.
At 75, it is time to recognize our high achievers and potential of Pakistan including the Thought Leaders who lead the country's development vision through ideas, intellectual inputs and light up the road to prosperity; Policy Leaders who transform policy into action and make a difference; Business Leaders who invest their energies and resources in the country and contribute to economic development; and Society Leaders who practice and advocate social responsibility and guide the society in the right direction.
To acknowledge the selfless devotion of our leaders for our beloved homeland, Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives will confer "Development Leadership Awards" on:
(over 40 years of age) who have contributed significantly to the socioeconomic development of Pakistan;
• Emerging Young Leadersof the country (under 40 years of age) who will lead our way to prosperity; and
• Institutionalwho have dedicated their resources to Pakistan's development.

Policy Leaders | Frontline service providers Administrators Development sector professionals | Leaders who transform policy into action and make a difference such as administrators (including civil officers, lawyers, and financial sector experts), frontline providers (from education, health, agriculture, IT) and development sector professionals (such as NGOs). |
Business Leaders | Business owners Investors Startups Social enterprises | Leaders who invest their energies and resources in the country and contribute to economic development. |
Society Leaders | Philanthropists Social activists Journalists (covering development) | Leaders who practice/ advocate social responsibility and guide society in the right direction. |
• The High Achievers category is for individuals who have made significant contributions to the socioeconomic development of Pakistan in their respective fields. This could include individuals who have worked in areas such as education, health, poverty alleviation, women's empowerment, or environmental protection.
• To be eligible for this category, individuals must be over 35 years of age and vast experience in the field of development. They must have a proven track record of success, and their work must have had a significant impact on the lives of the Pakistani people.
• The Emerging Young Leaders category is for individuals who are under the age of 35 and who have demonstrated outstanding leadership potential in the field of development. This could include individuals who are working on innovative projects to address social or economic challenges, or who are advocating for policy changes that will benefit the Pakistani people.
• To be eligible for this category, individuals must be below 35 years of. They must have a clear vision for the future of Pakistan, and they must be committed to making a difference in the lives of the Pakistani people.
• The Overseas Pakistanis category is for individuals who are of Pakistani origin and who are living and working outside of Pakistan. This could include individuals who are working in the field of development in their host countries, or who are using their skills and resources to support development projects in Pakistan.
• To be eligible for this category, individuals must be living overseas working in the field of development. They must have a strong commitment to Pakistan, and they must be using their skills and resources to make a difference in the lives of the Pakistani people.
