Dr. Shabana Haider is currently serving as the Member Population in the Planning Commission of Pakistan, the apex body for economic planning and development. She is a global health, population and nutrition leader, strategic ideas architect, and health systems specialist with over 18 years of transformative experience spanning health systems strengthening, policy development, and sustainable financing across low- and middle-income countries including Pakistan, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Uganda, and Indonesia.

Dr. Shabana Haider has extensively worked for public, private and development sector partners. She has earlier worked with the Global Fund and Oxford Policy Management on transition and sustainability of Global Fund investments in Pakistan. She is also an International Board Member representing LMICs at the Canadian Association for Global Health (CAGH).

Dr. Shabana Haider's leadership roles include her tenure as Country Director of an international US-based organization leading health financing reforms in Pakistan while advising provincial governments. She has also served as Member Planning Board Punjab and received Best Performance Awards twice from the Chief Minister Punjab.

Her visionary approach to healthcare governance is reflected through her service as Chairperson of the Board of Governors for leading public-private partnerships in health and her pioneering role in establishing Pakistan's first health regulatory body, Punjab Healthcare Commission. She also established the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition and Population Centre and Punjab Population Innovation Fund, where she served as the first CEO.

Dr. Shabana Haider has been instrumental in establishing quaternary care facilities for organ transplantation including PKLI and designing comprehensive programs addressing family planning, maternal and child health, tuberculosis, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, and immunization.

Her diverse professional background also includes international strategic roles in pharmaceutical and wellness sectors with French and Singaporean multinational corporations.

Dr. Shabana Haider holds a Master of Science in Global Health from McMaster University, Canada, a Master's in Public Policy, a Medical degree from Pakistan, specialized certification in Human Resources for Health from Harvard School of Public Health, and Health Financing certification from the World Health Organization, Geneva.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Shabana Haider is a passionate climate advocate, global traveler, and ardent horse rider.
